Data retrieval

The WETSCAPES2.0 data infrastructure includes a suite of dedicated applications that support comprehensive data access and exploration. These comprise tools for raw sensor data retrieval and real-time monitoring, enabling users to access and assess incoming measurements directly from the field. Complementary services provide full access to sensor metadata, as well as harmonized data retrieval for standardized, analysis-ready datasets. In addition, spatial and temporal search and aggregation functionalities allow users to efficiently discover and combine datasets across sites and time periods. The platform is further extended by a Piwigo-based image server, which manages and serves visual data associated with field activities and monitoring sites.

Raw Sensor Data Retrieval

Raw Sensor Data Monitoring

Short description: Grafana, hosted at the University of Rostock, fetches InfluxDB sensor data streams and enables the monitoring of their quality. A mirror backup instance is hosted at the University of Greifswald.

Sensor Metadata Snapshots

Short description: The Sensor Management System, hosted at the GFZ in Potsdam, stores the metadata for our sensors and configurations of sensors, as well as it offers API endpoints for the retrieval of metadata.

Harmonized Sensor Data Retrieval

Short description: The Sensor Data Retrieval app enables the harmonized (i.e., human-readable) visualization and extraction of sensor data by combining raw data from our InfluxDB instance at the University of Rostock with metadata from the GFZ Sensor Management System.

Retrieving Harmonized Data: TBA

Exploring Field and Sensor Datasets

Short description: The Dataset Explorer app allows the spatial and temporal aggregation access to datasets. The app core combines QFieldCloud points and polygons, hosted at the University of Rostock, with the retrieval of CKAN datasets, archived at the University of Greifswald.
